TRAFFIC

The officers of the Traffic Section play a crucial role in achieving the primary objectives of the Burkburnett Police Department. These objectives are designed to be attainable, quantifiable, and measurable by all involved. Below is a non-exhaustive list of key objectives for Traffic Officers:

  • Reduce the number of traffic accidents.
  • Decrease the occurrence of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) incidents.
  • Alleviate traffic congestion.
  • Thoroughly prepare cases involving traffic offenses to support successful prosecution in court.
  • Educate both drivers and pedestrians on traffic safety practices.

In order to assign traffic unit resources efficiently and effectively, we encourage citizens to report potential traffic hazards and speeding vehicles within the city. Resources will be allocated based on areas of greatest need.

To submit a traffic complaint, please complete and submit the Traffic/Speeding Complaint/Traffic HazardForm.
