Chief Miller is a dedicated law enforcement professional and military veteran with more than 31 years of service to his community and country. His career began in 1990 as an infantryman with the Army National Guard, where he developed the foundations of strong leadership, discipline, and a commitment to service.

Chief Miller joined the Wichita Falls Police Department in 1995. For almost three decades, he served in a wide range of roles, including patrol officer, motorcycle officer, criminal investigator, training coordinator, member of the Gang Task Force and SWAT team, and later as a Commander over Patrol and Support Services. His breadth of experience, coupled with his steady leadership in high-pressure environments, made him a trusted and essential member of the department.

Alongside his law enforcement career, Chief Miller continued his military service in the Texas Army National Guard. His deployments included combat operations in Iraq, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for exceptional service. He retired from the National Guard in 2014.

In 2024, Chief Miller retired as the Support Services Commander of the Wichita Falls Police Department and began a new chapter as Chief of the Burkburnett Police Department.

Chief Miller holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA). He is also a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) Leadership Command College, Class #85, a premier program recognized statewide for excellence in police leadership and executive development. Chief Miller is currently pursuing his PhD, further demonstrating his commitment to continual professional growth and advancing the field of public safety.

Chief Miller’s dedication to justice, leadership development, and community service continues to guide his work as he leads the Burkburnett Police Department forward.
