Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Board

By law of the State of Texas, the City of Burkburnett collects a Hotel Occupancy Tax from hotels, bed & breakfasts, and other lodging facilities. Under state law, the revenue may be used only to promote tourism and the hotel and convention industry directly. The HOT Board makes decisions allocating the HOT funds for eligible activities that bring events and people to the City of Burkburnett.
